Characteristics

Receptacle-tube 4–6·5 mm. long, obconic, lobes 3–7·5 mm. long, triangular-lanceolate, acute. Corolla-lobes 2·5–3 × 1–2 cm., deep yellow, ovate, acute, united in lower half.

Leaf-lamina 5–14 × 6·5–18 cm., broadly ovate in outline, cordate, glabrous or almost so, punctate, deeply palmately 3–5-lobed, the lobes broadly ovate or triangular to elliptic, oblanceolate or oblong-oblanceolate, entire or sinuate-dentate especially towards the apex, acute to obtuse, apiculate, the central largest.

Stems slender, scandent, glabrous, becoming white-punctate when older.
Seeds c. 5 × 3·5 × 1·4 mm., ovate in outline, compressed, lenticular.
Petioles 0·6–4 cm. long, setulose on upper margins or glabrous.
Probracts 3–5 mm. long, narrow, oblanceolate-spathulate.
