A shrub or tree. It grows 4-5 m tall. The young twigs are reddish-brown. There can be slight hairs. The leaf blades are 2-7 cm long by 1-3 cm wide. They are narrowly oval. There are 8-9 pairs of side veins. There is one flower in a leaf axil and flowers are made up of 5 parts. The fruit are 6-9 mm long by 6-7 mm wide. The fruit are green turning yellow. The seeds are 8 mm long by 4 mm wide and greenish-brown.
Leaf blades 2–7 × 0.8–2.7 cm, oblong-elliptic to oblong or sometimes narrowly elliptic in shape, obtuse to acute or rarely subacuminate at the apex, acute at the base, papery, dull above; lateral nerves in 8–9 main pairs; tertiary nerves usually apparent on both surfaces; domatia often well defined, sparsely pubescent; petiole 2–7 mm long; stipules (3)4–8 mm long, triangular at base gradually tapering above.
Corolla creamy-white to pure white; tube 4–4.5(6) mm long, 3 mm wide at top; lobes 7–8 × 1.75–3.5 mm, oblong, obtuse to rounded.
Shrub 1.2–2.4 m tall; young twigs maroon-brown, very sparsely pubescent to pubescent on either side.
Fruit orange-yellow, 6–9 × 6–7 mm; whole stalk lengthening to 6–8 mm long.
Seeds greenish-brown, 8 × 4 mm.
Calyx limb shorter than disk.
