Characteristics

Tree or shrub, 2-5 m high, with trailing stems and branches ascending into canopy. Leaves elliptic or broadly elliptic to ovate, with brownish hairs at first, becoming hairless, dark green and slightly shining above, margins entire; 5-7(-12) pairs of lateral veins, slightly indented above; petioles up to 10 mm long. Inflorescence a short, axillary spike, 30-40 mm long. Flowers with minute, yellow petals, concealed by short, soft, brownish hairs. Flowering time Sept., Oct. Fruit 4-winged, greenish yellow, tinged pink.
