Leaves pale grey-green, linear-acuminate; 60-100 x 3-25 mm; sheath with white hairs at mouth; abaxial surface pubescent; adaxial surface glabrous. Spathe solitary, funnel-shaped, falcate. Inflorescence of 2 cymes; upper cyme exserted, 1-flowered; lower 5-flowered. Flowers: petals unequal, blue. Ovary with 2 ovules in each of 2 anterior chambers and 1 ovule in dorsal chamber; style terete; stigma simple. Flowering time Oct.-Mar. Fruit a flat capsule; dorsal locule not developed.
