Characteristics

Erect or spreading, wiry, puberulous chamaephytes up to c. 0.3 m tall. Stems with elongated thin, woody internodes below. Leaves imbricate on short side shoots above, narrowly linear, up to c. 30 x 3 mm, striate, margins raised, white with few to many long white septate setae above mouth of short sheath. Spathes on patent peduncles up to 15 mm long, folded, narrowly ovate-acuminate, falcate, striate, setose, margins raised, lined on the inside with white flat hairs. Upper cyme on a patent stipe 10-15 mm long, occasionally fertile. Lower cyme c. 4-flowered. Sepals membranous, speckled with brown. Petals yellow. Capsule narrowly ovoid, c. 6 mm; seeds absent.
