Characteristics

Leaves 3-foliolate or pinnate; petioles up to 5 cm. long, leaflets 2–3-jugate, lamina up to 7 × 3·2 cm., the terminal leaflet rather larger than the rest, oblong-lanceolate or oblanceolate, apex acute, margin serrate-crenate, base cuneate and often somewhat asymmetric.

Flowers appearing with the leaves in axillary paniculate cymes up to 11 cm. long; pedicels up to 2 mm. long.
Small glabrous tree up to 6 m. tall; bark smooth, grey-green, papery.
Calyx 1·5 mm. long, campanulate, lobed to at least half-way.
Stamen-filaments subterete, slender.
