Is a striking climbing shrub.. Leaves elliptic-ovate, up to 18.5 cm. long and 9.5 cm. wide, ± acuminate at the apex, subcordate at the base, entire, velvety pubescent.. Cymes in axillary and terminal inflorescences, each cyme 5–9-flowered and surrounded by 3 violet elliptic-oblong emarginate to mucronate mvolucral bracts, 1.5–3 cm. long, 0.5–1.2 cm. wide, tomentose and with long hairs above at base.. Calyx violet, 5–7 mm. long, densely hairy outside, with triangular teeth.. Corolla white tinged pink, ± 8 mm. long.
