Characteristics

Shrub to 80 cm tall. Leaves scattered, ascending, filiform, 3.5-8.5 cm long, 0.4-0.75 mm wide, glabrous; apex ±mucronate; midvein ±prominent. Inflorescence of many spikes in upper leaf axils; peduncle 1.5-7 cm long, white, villous; bracteoles ovate, 2.2-3.2 mm long, 1.7-2.5 mm wide, blue, tomentose at sides and base; margin ciliate; apex acute, ±cuspidate. Flowers white, woolly; tube 4-7.5 mm long; upper lip ovate, 1.8-3 mm long, 1-1.7 mm wide, blue, glabrous above, densely woolly at base; lower lip bearded, united for 1.5-2.5 mm; lobes 0.4-0.8 mm long, 0.15-0.3 mm wide, acute, ±recurved. Nut 1.8-2.8 mm long, 1.6-1.9 mm wide, orange-brown, velutinous; circumference hairs 1.8-2.5 mm long, orange-brown; central tuft 2-2.5 mm long.
