Characteristics

Slender shrub to 1.5 m tall. Leaves linear, terete, 8-15 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, appressed, pilose, glabrescent; apex acute. Inflorescence a panicle of head-like spikes, or a dense spike; peduncle 14-46 mm long, hirsute; bracteoles 2.8-3.4 mm long, 1.75-2.5 mm wide, with scattered hairs. Perianth white, pilose; tube 4-5 mm long; upper lip saccate, 1.5-1.8 mm long, 1.6-2 mm wide, pilose, with a recurved apex; lower lip united for 0.75-1 mm; lobes 1.2-1.6 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm wide, pilose. Nut 2.25-2.75 mm long, 2.4-2.75 mm wide, golden-pilose; circumference hairs 1.2-2 mm long, golden; central tuft 2.5-3 mm long.
