Perennial; stems twining or prostrate, long, rather sparingly branched, pilose with adpressed hairs, silvery at first but often drying golden-brown (this applies to the indumentum in general).. Leaf-blade oblong or elliptic, slightly obovate, 0.8–3.5 cm. long, 0.25–1.9 cm. wide, rounded or somewhat acute at the apex, cuneate or obscurely hastate-truncate at the base with all the main nerves originating from near the base, slightly to densely adpressed pilose; young leaves appearing silvery; petiole 1–4 mm. long.. Flowers 2–5 in loose bracteate silky-pubescent heads; peduncle 1–4.5 cm. long; bracts leaf-like up to 1.4 cm. long and 0.75 cm. wide.. Sepals pilose, elliptic to elliptic-obovate or spathulate, unequal, 5–9 mm. long and 1–4 mm. wide.. Corolla 8–10 mm. long, mauve or blue.. Style 3 mm. long, equalling the stigmas.. Capsule not known.
