Characteristics

Leaf cordate, 5–30 × 10–20 mm, bright green above with 3 light veins; margins and underside reddish. Flower nodding, globose, 10–11 mm long, dark reddish purple, on stalk 5–8 mm long. Dorsal sepal 10–12 × 7–9 mm, about as long as the labellum, with basal claw 5–6 mm long, suddenly expanded into a strongly bulbous concave blade. Lateral sepals c. 8 mm long, white. Petals c. 5 mm long, white. Labellum 10–11 mm long, tubular with a projecting, blackish lower beak, numerous bristles around orifice. Calli pink to dark red, clustered in rows along mid-line, 4 short rows on labellum beak.
