Characteristics

Leaf cordate to round, 15–30 × 15–25mm, dark green above, silvery green beneath. Flower erect or slightly reclining, 12–17 × 10–15 mm, dark purple, central part of labellum white or cream. Dorsal sepal 18–22 × 12–14 mm, greenish with purple markings, concave, curved forwards and capping labellum top. Lateral sepals c. 5 × 0.4 mm long. Petals c. 3 × 0.3 mm long. Labellum lamina elliptic, 10–15 × 10–15 mm, surface with a few scattered papillae; basal tube 4–5 mm long, auricles hidden by labellum; boss conspicuous, white, mounded, deeply notched; margins strongly incurved with evenly arranged, short teeth (often few or no teeth).
