Characteristics

Leaf ovate to cordate, 15–30 × 10–20 mm, green above, silvery green beneath. Flower erect or leaning back, 16–20 × 10–14 mm, translucent grey with dark red markings, central part of labellum greyish, margins red. Dorsal sepal spathulate, 20–28 × 10–13 mm, translucent grey, concave, curved forwards strongly over labellum. Lateral sepals 7–10 × 0.5 mm. Petals c. 6 × 0.4 mm. Labellum lamina almost circular, 9–12 × 12–15 mm, surface around boss with numerous red bristle-like papillae; basal tube 10–11 mm long, auricles just visible below labellum; boss flattish, greyish; margins spreading or incurved, with numerous long narrow teeth.
