Characteristics

Leaf flat or cupped, round, 12–20 × 12–20 mm, light green above, silvery green beneath, moderately thick-textured. Flower erect on a stalk 5–7 mm long, 25–30 × 10–14 mm, mostly dark red. Dorsal sepal spathulate, 5–8 × 1.5–2 mm, strongly hooding labellum, blunt. Lateral sepals 20–25 × 1 mm, erect or spreading, red with a pale base. Petals 10–13 × 1 mm, erect or spreading, red with a pale base. Labellum base tubular then expanded, c. 15 × 10 mm; labellum boss cream to yellowish with a deep central groove; margins incurved with a few small teeth.
