Characteristics

Shrublets with short spreading branches up to 0.3 m long, sparsely branched. Leaves opposite, obovate to rarely oblanceolate, 60-100(-170) x (25-)40-80(-100) mm, cuneate, usually cuspidate, rarely rounded, dorsiventrally flattened and slightly convex on both surfaces, usually glabrous, rarely viscid, yellowish green rarely deep green. Inflorescence a thyrse with 3-5 dichasia each with (3-)5-9 flowers; peduncle 0.2-0.35(-0.45) m long, viscid. Calyx: lobes triangular-lanceolate, 4-6 mm long, acute, viscid. Corolla yellow to yellowish green; tube cylindrical, 6-10 mm long, viscid on the outside, glabrous inside except for a few hairs where filaments are fused to tube; lobes linear-lanceolate, reflexed and straight. Anthers c. 3 mm long. Squamae transversely oblong, 0.4-0.6 x 1.6-1.9 mm, slightly emarginate, fleshy, yellow.
