Characteristics

Multi-stemmed, rounded, succulent shrublets, up to 0.9 m tall. Leaves alternate, cylindrical, obtuse or apiculate, mostly 60-100 x 8-10 mm. Flowerheads several in lax corymbs on long, minutely scaly peduncles, radiate, yellow, trimorphic with a series of bisexual disc florets between the male-fertile central florets and the female-fertile rays; involucre cup-shaped, ± 8 mm diam., bracts 8-10, ± 8 x 2-3 mm. Cypselas ± 2 mm long, appressed-hairy; pappus ± 3 mm long.
