Pachycaul shrublet with cylindrical or barrel-shaped, succulent stems, up to 0.3 m tall, branching shortly above. Leaves crowded at branch tips, cylindrical, 40-100 x 2-3 mm. Flowerheads few in lax pedunculate corymbs, radiate, yellow; involucre cup-shaped, ± 8 mm diam., bracts 8-10, 6-8 x 1.5-2 mm. Cypselas 2.5 mm long, appressed-hairy; pappus ± 4 mm long.
Dwarf, succulent shrublet with fleshy stems to 20 cm. Leaves crowded at branch tips, fleshy, fusiform to terete, woolly in axils. Flower heads sparsely radiate, rays narrow, few on sparsely leafy peduncles, yellow; pappus of marginal florets much elongated in fruit.
