Characteristics

Perennials with prostrate or decumbent branches up to 0.1 m long, little branched, with adventitious roots along stems, with old leaves not deciduous. Leaves obovate and often somewhat angular, 2-4 x 2-3 mm, obtuse, with cuneate bases, dorsiventrally flattened but becoming more or less fleshy towards apices, verruculose at least when young, green to brown. Inflorescence a terminal dichasium with (1-)3-5 flowers, with indistinct peduncle. Calyx: lobes broadly oblong, 1.5-2 mm long, with rounded apices, fleshy, green. Corolla near-urceolate, fused at base for 0.2-0.4 mm, white or cream; lobes oblong to oblanceolate, 2.5-3 mm long, obtuse and without dorsal appendage, recurved at apices. Stamens with yellow anthers. Squamae oblong-cuneate, 0.4-0.6 x 0.3-0.4 mm, truncate, somewhat constricted downwards, slightly fleshy, pale yellow.
