Characteristics

Annuals with stiff, erect branches up to 0.15 m high, glabrous or with recurved papillae. Leaves sessile, narrowly triangular to lanceolate, 6-10(-15) x 1-2(-3) mm, acute or subulate with terminal seta, glabrous or with a few marginal papillae, dorsiventrally compressed and slightly convex on upper and lower surface, slightly fleshy, often leathery, green to brown. Calyx: lobes triangular to lanceolate, 1-2.5 mm long, and becoming somewhat longer after flowering, acute or usually obtuse but with terminal seta, glabrous, somewhat fleshy, green to brown. Corolla cup-shaped to tubular, fused basally for c. 0.3 mm, white; lobes oblong-lanceolate, 1-1.5 mm long, obtuse, erect. Stamens with brown anthers.
