Characteristics

Perennials with slender prostrate branches up to 0.35 m long, often forming dense carpets, often with adventitious roots. Leaves with short petioles 1-7 mm long; lamina elliptic to broadly elliptic, (3-)4-10 x (l-)2-4 mm, obtuse, dorsiventrally flattened, glabrous, grey-green to yellowish green. Inflorescence with solitary flowers in axils of leaves. Calyx: lobes linear-oblanceolate to almost club-shaped, 2-2.5 mm long, obtuse, glabrous, fleshy, green. Corolla cup-shaped, scarcely fused basally, white; lobes elliptic, 3-4 mm long, bluntly acute, erect or slightly recurved. Stamens with yellowish anthers. Squamae transversely oblong to almost square, 0.2-0.3 x 0.4(-0.5) mm, truncate, scarcely constricted downwards, membranous, white.
