Leaves spirally arranged, canaliculate ± flaccid, linear, 6–10 mm. broad, up to 30 cm. long, midrib visible, margin with distinct scattered hairs 2–3 mm. long, only the few central leaves with entire apices.. Scape short and often entirely below ground.. Inflorescence 1–2 (–3)-flowered, subtended by 2 bracts soon becoming thin and papery.. Flowers sessile.. Perianth-tube erect, almost straight, 9–11 cm. long; segments white with faint pink midstripe, narrowly lanceolate, recurved at apex, 7–11 cm. long, ± 1 cm. broad, connivent to a narrow funnel.. Stamens declinate; anthers yellow-brown, curved.. Fruit subglobose, with a small beak, greenish.. Seeds few, globose, smooth.
