Genus

Angiosperms > Gentianales > Rubiaceae

Shrubs or trees. Leaves opposite, shortly petiolate; stipules interpetiolar, triangular, subpersistent. Flowers fairly small, strongly scented, numerous in dense branched terminal corymbose panicles. Calyx-tube obovoid or globose; teeth 4–6, erect obtuse, deciduous. Corolla hypocrateriform; tube slender, not hairy at the throat; lobes 4–6, contorted, spreading.
