Shrub or woody herb, well branched at least above, up to 1–4 m. tall.. Branches appressed puberulous to densely spreading yellowish pubescent or tomentellous.. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic, more rarely lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, up to 4·5–10 cm. long, 2·2–5·5 cm. wide, glabrous above, appressed puberulous to pubescent beneath, with slightly spreading sometimes crisped hairs most dense along the nerves; petiole ± 3–10·5 cm. long.. Stipules filiform, up to 2 mm. long.. Inflorescences axillary, very shortly racemose or subfasciculate, ± 2–6(–12)-flowered; bracts filiform, up to 1·5 mm. long; bracteoles minute.. Calyx ± 10–13(–15) mm. long, slightly protracted on the lower side, thinly puberulous to conspicuously pubescent; upper lobes narrow, much longer than the tube..
