Annual or short-lived perennial, with many slender ascending or prostrate sparsely appressed puberulous stems, branched from the base, 5–25 cm. long.. Leaves almost all 3-foliolate, but lower ones on young plants sometimes 1-foliolate; leaflets linear-lanceolate to oblanceolate, up to 9–30 mm. long, 3·5–5 mm. wide, glabrous above, subglabrous to sparsely appressed puberulous beneath; petiole ± 3–9 mm. long.. Stipules subulate, 2–4 mm. long.. Racemes pedunculate, lax, up to 5 cm. long, with 4–12 flowers on the slender rhachis; bracts linear, ± 1 mm. long; bracteoles inserted on the lower part of the pedicel, filiform, less than 1 mm. long.. Calyx 3·5–5 mm. long, sub-glabrous; lobes narrowly attenuate-triangular, ± twice as long as the tube.. Standard broadly elliptic, dull yellow, veined crimson, glabrous or puberulous along the midvein outside; wings ± as long as the keel or a little shorter; keel bent almost at right-angles in the lower part, with a straight untwisted beak, 6–8 mm. long.. Pod sessile, subglobose to subglobose-ellipsoid, ± 9 mm. long, 7 mm. across, subglabrous, ± 22–24-seeded.. Mature seeds unknown.
