Perennial herb, up to 0.7 m high. Stems erect or decumbent from a woody rootstock. Leaves 3-5-foliolate, leaflets narrowly linear-ovate to narrowly ovate, 25-55 x 4-16 mm. Flowers: in lax racemes, 5-12-flowered; calyx as long as or nearly as long as keel; corolla pale lemon-yellow or white with purple or red veins; Oct.-May. Pods broadly oblong-clavate, 40-55 mm long.
Standard subcircular or obovate, white, sometimes tinged yellow or mauve, veined brown or dark blue, subglabrous to pubescent outside; wings as long as keel; keel 1.5–1.8 cm long, abruptly rounded ± at right-angles in the lower third, with a well developed straight beak, lanate-pubescent along the upper edge.
A herb. It grows 70 cm tall. The leaves have 3-5 leaflets. The leaflets are 25-55 mm long by 4-16 mm wide. There are 5-12 flowers in a loose group. The flowers are white or yellow with red veins. The pods are broad and 4-5.5 cm long.
Leaves 3–5-foliolate; leaflets 2.5–5.5 × 0.4–1.6 cm, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate, rarely elliptic, glabrescent above, pilose beneath; petioles shorter to ± as long as leaflets; stipules 8–17 mm long, linear-caudate.
Racemes lax, 5–12(16)-flowered; bracts 3–8 mm long, linear-lanceolate, sometimes caudate; bracteoles curved-ascending from just below the calyx, 5–8 mm long, lanceolate, ± subfalcate.
Perennial herb (sometimes flowering in first year), erect or decumbent, up to 70 cm tall, with 1–several patently pilose stems from an ultimately woody tuberous stock.
Calyx accrescent, 1.5–2.2 cm long, pilose; upper lobes oblong-lanceolate, 2–3 times as long as the tube.
Pod (3.5)4–5.5 cm long, broadly oblong-clavate, subsessile, pilose.
Seeds c. 4 mm long, oblique-cordiform, rugulose, brown.
