Characteristics

Racemes variably developed, 1–10 cm long, subumbellate to sublaxly many-flowered, with many other flowers on shorter racemes or heads developing on ± abbreviated lateral branches and in the axils; bracts (1)1.5–2.5 mm long, linear-subulate to linear-lanceolate; pedicel 2–5 mm long, with setaceous bracteoles on the pedicel.

Leaves mostly 3-foliolate, upper ones often 1-foliolate; leaflets 4–25 × 1–5(7) mm, mostly linear-oblanceolate, oblanceolate or oblong-oblanceolate, lower ones sometimes oblong-obovate, rounded to retuse at the apex, appressed pubescent beneath, occasionally also above; petiole 2–12 mm long; stipules 0.
Standard elliptic to oblong-obovate, yellow marked purplish-brown, medially and apically pubescent outside; wings markedly shorter than the keel; keel 7–9.5 mm long, angular, with a long narrow beak incurved at the tip.
Calyx 3.5–5 mm long, appressed pubescent; lobes narrowly triangular, 2–3 times as long as the tube.
Erect branching annual (0.1)0.3–1 m tall; stem densely appressed pubescent.
Seeds 1.5–2 mm long, oblique-cordiform, smooth, with a prominent aril.
