Characteristics

Shrubby, up to 1-2 m tall, or a slender-stemmed straggling or trailing herb; branches variously pubescent. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets narrowly elliptic-oblong fc elliptic or oblanceolate to obovate, pointed or round and apiculate, sometimes with the margins slightly inrolled, mostly 1.2-4 x 0.3-1.8 cm, glabrous above, subglabrous to pubescent beneath; petioles 0.5-16 mm long. Stipules subulate or triangular-lanceolate, 1- long, recurved. Racemes on main and usually numerous, relatively short lateral branches (often bearing smaller leaves), few-flowered, or the flowers solitary; bracts linear to linear-lanceolate, up to 2.5 mm long; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, small and filiform.
