Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets broadly oblanceolate to elliptic-obovate, rarely oblong-lanceolate, up to 14–32 mm. long, 6–14 mm. wide, glabrous above, appressed puberulous beneath; petiole up to 10–23 mm. long.. Stipules linear, up to 1·5–4 mm. long.. Racemes up to 10–20 cm. long, with generally numerous fairly closely arranged flowers; bracts linear, ± 1–2(–3) mm. long; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, inconspicuous.. Calyx 3–4 mm. long, protracted on the lower side, appressed puberulous; upper lobes triangular and slightly acuminate, scarcely longer than the tube, rarely narrowly triangular and longer.. Standard broadly elliptic-obovate, yellow, veined brown, usually puberulous outside, at least along the midvein; wings nearly as long as the keel; keel bent at right-angles in the lower half, with a narrow practically straight twisted beak, 7–10 mm. long.. Pod oblong-clavate, narrowed towards the base into the very short 1–2 mm. long stipe, 14–22 mm. long, 5–8 mm. across, appressed puberulous, ± 10–25-seeded..
