Characteristics

Divaricately branched perennial, 10-40 cm tall; branch-lets ± densely white appressed puberulous. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets oblanceolate to obovate, 5-10 x 1.5-4 mm, thinly substrigulose beneath; petiole 1-5(-7) mm long. Stipules triangular to linear-lanceolate, 0.5-1.5 mm long. Racemes leaf-opposed, numerous, (1-)2-6 cm long, with the rhachis extension often pungent, (2-)4-6-flowered; bracts triangular to linear lanceolate, 0.5-1 mm long; bracteoles on the pedicel, small. Calyx 3.5-5 mm long, appressed puberulous; lobes triangular, 1-1.5 times as long as the tube. Standard elliptic to subcircular, yellow, glabrous except along the midvein outside; wings a little shorter than the keel; keel angular, with a narrow twisted beak, 6-9 mm long. Legume shortly stipitate, ellipsoid to subglobose, 5-8 x 4.5-6 mm, with impressed upper suture, appressed puberulous, 2-4-seeded (ovules 4-8). Mature seeds not seen.
