Characteristics

Standard elliptic to oblong-obovate, yellow, lined brownish and thinly pubescent outside along the veins especially medially; wings shorter than the keel; keel 9–13 mm long, bent at right angles in the lower part, with a long practically straight beak.

Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 20–70 × 1.5–4 mm, linear-lanceolate, appressed pubescent at least beneath; petiole much shorter than leaflets; stipules 1–4 mm long, linear or subulate.
Erect annual, 30–80 cm tall, much branched from the base upwards; branches ascending, terete, pubescent with longish rather stiff appressed hairs.
Pod shortly stipitate, (8)10–12 × 4.5–6 mm, oblong-ellipsoid to shortly cylindrical, appressed puberulous, 8–12-seeded.
Calyx 5–7 mm long, thinly appressed pubescent; lobes subulate, usually at least twice as long as the tube.
Racemes laxly 4–6(12)-flowered; rhachis slender; bracts 1–2 mm long, linear; bracteoles lacking.
Seeds c. 2 mm long, bluntly triangular, rugulose, brown.
