Standard elliptic or subcircular, yellow, lined and ageing reddish-brown, puberulous outside; wings only slightly broadened distally, as long as the keel; keel 7–9 mm long, angular, with a narrow twisted beak.
Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 1–3 × 0.5–1.8 cm, elliptic-oblong, elliptic or elliptic-obovate, appressed puberulous beneath; petiole 3–15 mm long; stipules 2–4 mm long, linear-subulate.
Decumbent perennial; stems 15–60 cm long, densely covered with short stiffish irregularly shaped hairs, usually mostly spreading, some (sometimes most) appressed.
Calyx 4–5 mm long, appressed puberulous; upper lobes triangular, slightly acuminate, not much longer than the tube.
Pod subsessile, 7–9 × 4–5 mm, ellipsoid-obovoid, pubescent, 6–8-seeded.
