Leaves 1-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to elliptic-oblong, up to 20–42 mm. long and 6–12 mm. wide, bluntly pointed,thinly pilose on both surfaces; petiole ± 3–5 mm. long.. Stipules absent.. Racemes sessile, dense, ± 4–24 cm. long, many-flowered, with usually a few other flowers clustered in the axils below; bracts linear-lanceolate, 5–15 mm. long, usually longer than the flowers; bracteoles absent.. Calyx 6–8 mm. long, with the tube protracted on the lower side, densely pilose; upper lobes narrowly attenuate-triangular, ± 2–4 times as long as the tube.. Standard elliptic, dull yellow, veined red and densely pilose outside; wings nearly as long as the keel; keel bent at right-angles in the lower half, with a narrow practically straight twisted beak, 6–7 mm. long.. Pod sessile, shortly ellipsoid, up to 7–9 mm. long and 5 mm. across, pilose, 4–6-seeded.. Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 2–2·5 mm. long, without a conspicuous aril, smooth, brown or mauvish tinged.
