Erect annual, with ascending branches, 2–12 dm. tall.. Stems conspicuously covered with subappressed or rather spreading hairs.. Leaves 1-foliolate; leaflets linear-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, up to 32–105 mm. long, 3–10 mm. wide, with the lower ones sometimes elliptic, subglabrous to sparsely pilose above, thinly pilose beneath; petiole up to 3–6(–8) mm. long.. Stipules filiform, up to 3 mm. long, sometimes obscure or absent.. Racemes lax, up to 9–16(–40) cm. long, ± 10–18(–50)-flowered; bracts subulate to linear-caudate, 1–4 mm. long; bracteoles inserted at the top of the pedicel, filiform, 0·5–2 mm. long.. Calyx 3–5 mm. long, thinly pubescent; lobes triangular-acuminate, ± as long as the tube.. Standard elliptic or obovate-elliptic, pale yellow, veined reddish-brown, glabrous or apically puberulous outside; wings a little shorter than the keel; keel bent at right-angles in the lower third, with a long narrow and straight untwisted beak, (6–)8–12 mm. long.. Pod practically sessile, sub cylindrical, up to 8–16 mm. long, 3–4·5 mm. across, pubescent, up to (12–)16–30-seeded.. Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 2 mm. long, smooth, brown.
