Characteristics

Shrub 0.5-2 m tall; branches slender, somewhat angular, appressed puberulous to finely strigulose, sometimes glabrescent. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to obovate, (1-)1.5-4 x (0.7-)1-2 cm, sparsely appressed puberulous beneath; petiole slender, 1-4 cm long. Stipules subulate, 0.5-1 mm long. Racemes sublaxly 4-8-flowered; bracts subulate to linear-lanceolate, ±1 mm long, spreading, subpersistent; bracteoles on the pedicel, setaceous. Calyx 6-10 mm long, subglabrous to appressed puberulous; lobes narrowly triangular, 2-2.5 times as long as the tube. Standard elliptic-circular, pale yellow, glabrous outside except sometimes along the midvein; wings a little shorter than the keel; keel subangular, with a slightly incurved twisted beak, (0.8-)1-1.3 cm long. Legume with a stipe 0.5-0.8 cm long, ellipsoid-clavate to broadly ellipsoid, 2.5-3 x 1-1.2 cm, puberulous, 6-8-seeded. Seeds oblique-cordiform, 3 mm long, rugose, yellow-brown.
