Characteristics

Racemes numerous, the main ones 4.5–11 cm long, but also smaller ones on reduced branchlets appearing at first glance axillary from the upper leaves, all long pedunculate with 6–12 flowers widely spaced on the slender rhachis; bracts 1–1.5 mm long, subulate; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, small.

Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets mostly 15–45 × 3–15 mm, variable in shape, linear-lanceolate to lanceolate or oblanceolate to elliptic or obovate-elliptic, sparsely appressed puberulous beneath; petiole shorter (sometimes only slightly) than the leaflets; stipules 1–1.5 mm long, subulate, deciduous.
Standard obovate-circular, yellow, veined brown or purplish; wings exceeding the keel; keel 6–7 mm long, abruptly rounded near the middle, with a narrow attenuate beak incurved at the tip.
Pod shortly stipitate, (0.8)1.2–1.5 × 0.35–0.4 cm, narrowly subcylindrical, pointed at either end, puberulous, (6)10–16-seeded.
Calyx c. 4 mm long, glabrous; lobes narrowly acuminate-triangular, shorter to a little longer than the tube.
Erect widely branching annual, 10–60 cm tall; stem slender, subglabrous to sparsely puberulous above.
Seeds 1.5–2 mm long, oblique-cordiform, smooth to minutely rugulose, brownish.
