Characteristics

Leaves 1-foliolate; leaflets mostly 3–10.5 × 0.3–2.4 cm, elliptic at the base, varying to lanceolate and linear-lanceolate towards the branch tips, thinly appressed puberulous beneath; petioles mostly 3–6 mm long; stipules c. 0.5 mm long, triangular.

Standard elliptic-obovate, yellow lined reddish-purple; wings much shorter than the keel; keel 7–8 mm long, strongly rounded, with a narrow slightly incurved beak.
Racemes mostly 8–18 cm long, laxly 6–12-flowered; bracts 1–2.5 mm long, linear-caudate; bracteoles at the base of the calyx, similar.
Pod 2–2.2 × 0.7 cm, subsessile, subcylindrical, appressed pubescent, glabrescent on the underside, up to c. 18-seeded.
Calyx 3.5–4 mm long, appressed pubescent; lobes triangular-acuminate, a little longer than the tube.
Erect annual up to c. 70 cm tall; branches ascending, the lower ones curved, crisped pubescent.
