Perennial, with a number of straggling or ascending well-branched stems, up to 4·5 dm. long.. Stems densely covered with long mostly spreading hairs.. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets oblanceolate, oblanceolate-elliptic or obovate, up to 12–24 mm. long and 6–9 mm. wide, appressed pilose on both surfaces, more densely so beneath; petiole ± 5–10 mm. long.. Stipules subulate, up to 3–5 mm. long.. Racemes pedunculate, up to 4–11 cm. long, with ± 12–24 laxly or rather closely arranged flowers towards the top; bracts subulate, 1–2·5 mm. long; bracteoles inserted just below the calyx, filiform, up to 1–1·5 mm. long.. Calyx 4–5 mm. long, pilose; lobes acuminately triangular, longer than the tube.. Standard suborbicular, yellow, with reddish-brown veins and glabrous outside; wings ± as long as the keel or shorter; keel rounded about the middle, with a rather straight untwisted beak, 6–8 mm. long.. Pod nearly sessile, cylindrical, up to 11 mm. long and 4 mm. across, densely pubescent, maturing up to ± 12 seeds from the ± 26–30 ovules.. Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 2 mm. long, rugulose, reddish-brown.
