Leaves 3–foliolate; leaflets very reduced, narrowly oblong to obovate, 3–8 mm. long, 1–5 mm. wide; petiole constricted at the base, up to 40–78 mm. long.. Stipules absent.. Racemes lax, up to 11 cm. long, few-flowered; bracts subulate, 2–3 mm. long, usually caducous; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, filiform, 1–2 mm. long.. Calyx 13–15 mm. long, basally narrowed into a prominent receptacle; upper and lateral lobes on either side joined almost to the tips, rarely separating in fruit, longer than the tube.. Standard ovate-elliptic, yellow, often flushed with salmon or brown; wings a little over half to three-fourths as long as the keel; keel strongly rounded, with a well developed straight truncate upwardly directed untwisted beak, 30–35 mm. long, often speckled dull purplish.. Pod oblong-clavate, rather abruptly contracted into the 17–23 mm. long stipe, ± 58–72 mm. long, 9–10 mm. across, mottled maroon-brown, ± 20–seeded.. Seeds oblique-cordiform, ± 3–5 mm. long, smooth, brown.
