Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to elliptic-obovate, up to 4–8 cm. long, 2·3–4·4 cm. wide, glabrous above, usually rather densely appressed silvery pubescent beneath; petiole ± 4–13·5 cm. long.. Stipules minute.. Inflorescences axillary, shortly racemose or subfasciculate, ± 2–6-flowered; bracts filiform, up to 1·5 mm. long; bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, filiform, less than 1 mm. long.. Calyx 12–15(–18) mm. long, slightly protracted on the lower side, appressed puberulous; upper lobes narrow, much longer than the tube.. Standard suborbicular, bright yellow, turning reddish-brown with age, puberulous along the midvein outside; wings ± as long as the keel; keel rather abruptly rounded below the middle, with a well-developed twisted beak, 17–20 mm. long.. Pod markedly inflated, broadly ellipsoid-clavate, narrowed rather abruptly into the short stipe, up to 55–65 mm. long, 20–26 mm. in dorsiventral diameter, puberulous, ± 16-seeded.. Seeds subreniform, 6–8 mm. long, smooth, brown or pale yellowish.
