Characteristics

Standard elliptic, yellow, lined brown and pubescent outside; wings brighter yellow, much shorter than the keel; keel 11–14 mm long, angled in the lower third, with a long narrow beak incurved slightly towards the darker lined tip.

Leaves subsessile, simple; blades 30–60 × 1–2 mm, linear, the upper ones mostly with inrolled margins, sparsely puberulous beneath, glabrescent; stipules 1–2 mm long, setaceous.
Racemes numerous, terminal, with 1–3 laxly inserted flowers above a long very slender peduncle; bracts 1–2 mm long, setaceous; bracteoles at top of the pedicel, similar.
Pod stipitate, 10–14 × 3–4 mm, narrowly subcylindrical, only slightly broadened apically, appressed pubescent, c. 40-seeded; stipe c. 3 mm long.
Erect laxly branched graceful annual 25–45 cm tall; stem slender, inconspicuously appressed puberulous, glabrescent.
Calyx 5–6 mm long, appressed puberulous; lobes subulate, twice as long as the tube.
Seeds 1.2–1.5 mm long, cordiform, slightly rugulose, brown.
