Erect annual up to 0.3-1(-1.7) m tall, much branched from the base upwards, covered in longish appressed to rather spreading hairs or glabrous overall. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets very variable, linear to lanceolate, oblanceolate or elliptic, mostly 20-60 x 2-20 mm; petioles shorter than the leaflets. Stipules subulate to linear-lanceolate, ±1.5-5 mm long. Racemes laxly 12-many-flowered; bracts linear-lanceolate, 1-1.5 mm long; bracteoles on the pedicel, inconspicuous. Calyx 2.5-3.5(-4) mm long; lobes subulate, 2-3 times as long as the tube. Standard elliptic or oblong-obovate, usually pale yellow; wings shorter than the keel; keel angled in the lower part with a long narrow beak, (4-)5-7(-9) mm long. Legume shortly stipitate, shortly oblong-ellipsoid or oblong-obovoid, 5-7 x 3.5-4.5 mm, 1-4(-6)-seeded. Seeds bluntly triangular to very obliquely cordiform, 2.5-3 mm long, rugulose to nearly smooth, brown.
