Characteristics

Standard elliptic, bright yellow, lined or flushed reddish outside and puberulous near the apex; wings nearly as long as the keel; keel 8–9 mm long, angular, with a narrow twisted beak.

Stems numerous, ascending from a vertical woody rootstock, 10–25 cm long, slightly angular and ribbed, puberulous with short appressed and slightly longer spreading hairs.
Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets 10–25 × 4–8 mm, oblanceolate to elliptic-oblong, appressed puberulous beneath; petiole 1–6 mm long; stipules 1–3 mm long, linear-subulate.
Racemes lax, 4–12 cm long, c. 8–16-flowered; bracts 1.5–4 mm long, linear-lanceolate; bracteoles on the pedicel, setaceous.
Calyx 5–6 mm long, appressed puberulous; lobes triangular, slightly acuminate, 1.3–2 times as long as the tube.
Pod sessile, 9–15 × 7–10 mm, obliquely oblong-obovoid, slightly compressed laterally, puberulous, 8–16-seeded.
