Characteristics

Standard oblate, royal blue to mauve or ?whitish, with scattered hairs only at the apex and along the edge outside; wings a little shorter than the keel, yellow; keel 7.5–10 mm long, rounded, with a crest behind the short slightly incurved beak.

Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets (1)1.6–3.8 × (0.5)0.8–1.8 cm, obovate-rhombic or oblanceolate, apiculate, subdensely appressed puberulous and prominently veined beneath; petioles 5–12 mm long; stipules 3–8 mm long, subulate to linear-lanceolate.
Racemes subumbelliform, pedunculate, 4–8-flowered; bracts 4–7 mm long, linear; pedicels 6–10 mm long, slender, ascending, with filiform bracteoles near the middle or below.
Calyx 5–7 mm long, densely and shortly appressed pubescent; lobes attenuately or acuminately triangular, ± twice as long as the tube.
Prostrate perennial, with slender densely strigose-pubescent stems up to c. 40 cm long.
