Characteristics

Subshrub to 30 cm high. Indumentum ferruginous-silver. Branchlets with dense stellate trichomes, glabrescent. Stipules linear-lanceolate, 2–5 mm long, entire. Leaf lamina broadly ovate to lanceolate-ovate, 10–40 mm long, 8–25 mm wide; base cordate to rounded; margins irregularly crenate with 11–14 teeth [inconsistent with key to spp. step 9:-Editor]; tip acute; venation palminerved with 3–5 veins from the base and 3 or 4 lateral veins per side of midrib further up lamina, tertiary reticulate veins obscure; lower surface ferruginous-silver, lateral veins weakly prominent, with dense stellate trichomes; extrafloral nectaries absent. Male flowers: pedicels 1.4–2.5 mm long; sepals lanceolate-ovate to ovate, 1.5–2.5 mm long; petals oblanceolate, 2–2.2 mm long; stamens 16–18. Styles 3, bifid once. Fruit trilobate, globose, 6–6.5 mm long, 5–6.5 mm diam., with dense sessile and stalked stellate trichomes.
