Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 8 m high. Indumentum uncoloured to silver. Branchlets with dense stellate trichomes. Stipules lanceolate to lanceolate-ovate, 0.3–8 mm long, entire. Leaf lamina elliptic, lanceolate or ovate, 8–118 mm long, 3–38 mm wide; base cuneate; margins entire, sinuate or denticulate with 11–18 teeth; tip acuminate, acute, obtuse or mucronate; venation penninerved with 7–14 lateral veins per side of midrib, tertiary reticulate veins obscure; lower surface silver, lateral veins weakly visible, with dense overlapping peltate trichomes; extrafloral nectaries 2 at lamina base, ellipsoid, sessile, visible above only. Male flowers: pedicels 1.5–3.5 mm long; sepals lanceolate-ovate to obovate, 1.2–2.7 mm long; petals obovate, 1.3–3 mm long; stamens 10–12. Styles 3, multifid, divided twice. Fruit trilobate, depressed-globose, 6–8 mm long, 6.5–9 mm diam., with dense sessile and stalked stellate trichomes.
