Characteristics

Shrub to 5 m high. Indumentum silver. Branchlets with scattered to sparse peltate scales, glabrescent. Stipules linear-lanceolate, 1.5–2 mm long, entire. Leaf lamina elliptic to lanceolate, 15–120 mm long, 5–40 mm wide; base cuneate; margins denticulate to weakly crenate with 11–24 teeth; tip acute to acuminate; venation penninerved with 12 or 13 lateral veins per side of midrib, tertiary reticulate veins obscure to poorly developed; lower surface pale green, lateral veins poorly developed, with scattered peltate scales; extrafloral nectaries 2 at lamina base, circular to ellipsoid, stipitate to 0.3 mm long, visible above and below. Male flowers: pedicels 2–3.5 mm long; sepals lanceolate-ovate, 1–1.8 mm long; petals oblanceolate, 1–1.8 mm long; stamens 10–12. Styles 3, bifid once. Fruit trilobate, depressed-globose, 4–6 mm long, 5–6.5 mm diam., with sparse sessile yellow peltate scales.
