Characteristics

Shrub to 4 m high. Indumentum silver to silver-ferruginous. Branchlets with sparse to dense sessile and shortly stalked stellate trichomes, glabrescent. Stipules linear, 4–6 mm long. Leaf lamina elliptic to obovate, 35–90 mm long, 20–50 mm wide; base cuneate to truncate; margins weakly crenate with 32–38 teeth [inconsistent with key to spp. step 12?-Editor]; tip acute; venation palminerved with 2 lateral veins from base and 4 veins per side of midrib, tertiary reticulate veins prominent; lower surface grey-silver, venation prominent, with dense sessile and stalked stellate trichomes; extrafloral nectaries 2 at base of lamina, ellipsoid, stipitate, visible above and below. Male flowers: pedicels 10–12 mm long; sepals lanceolate-ovate, 2–2.3 mm long; petals obovate, 2–2.2 mm long; stamens 32–38. Styles 3, bifid once. Fruit not seen.
