Characteristics

Frutex vel fruticulus ut videtur pauciramosus altitudine mihi ignota. Rami erecti, elongati, in partibus iunioribus araneosi, deinde glabrescentes, usque ad capitula dense et aequaliter foliati internodiis cr. 1(-2) mm longis. Folia sessilia, breviter (cr.1-3 mm) et inconspicue decurrentia, lineari-lanceolata, rigidissima, ± recta et reflexa vel leviter curvati-reflexa, (10-)12-20 mm longa, (2.5-)3-4 mm lata, apice in spinam fulvam 2-5(-4) mm longam excurrentia, marginibus imprimis apicem versus revolutis, in lateribus utrinque 4-6 spinis ± in iugis dispositis ei in apice similibus solitariis uniseriatis 1.5-5(-4) mm longis praeterea in margine ipsa spinis brevioribus obsita, supra glabra, nitentia, subtus leviter araneosa vel subglabra vel glabra. Capitula in apicibus ramorum solitaria, ligulis expansis cr. 3.5-4 cm diam. Involucri leviter araneosum vel subglabrum; pars connata cupuliformis, cr. 7-8 mm alta, cr. 8-10 mm lata; squamae parietals densae et partem eonnatam fere totaliter obtegentes, lineari-lanceolatae, 7-10 mm longae, 1-1.5 mm latae, margine vix revolutae, ceterum ut folia in spinam exeurrentes et margine spinis solitariis vel subgeminatis obsitae, erecti-patentes vel leviter recurvae; squamae terminales 2-seriatae, ovati-lanceolatae, 7-10 mm longae, 2-3 mm latae (singulae seriei intimae minores), spinosi-aeuminatae, brevissime dentieulatae. Achaenia laevia glaberrima.
