Characteristics

Fruticulus vel frutex ramosus altitudine mihi ignota. Rami patentes, glabri, usque ad capitula dense et aequaliter foliati internodiis cr. 1.5-2 mm longis, in partibus vetustioribus cortice atri-fusco obtecti. Folia sessilia, vix decurrentia, ovati-lanceolata, rigida ± patentia et leviter incurvata, 5-7 mm longa, 2-3 mm lata, apice in spinam 2-2.5 mm longam leviter inflexam excurrentia, margine flava vel fulva cornea incrassata, spinis 2-3 mm longis bifariam ciliate (spinae seriei deorsum ortae paulum tantum breviores et densius seriatae quam eae seriei sursum ortae), primum levissime floccosi-araneosa, mox glabrescentia. Capitula in apicibus ramoriim solitaria, ligulis expansis cr. 3 cm diam. Involucrum subglabrum; pars connate cupuliformis, cr. 4 mm alta, cr. 6-7 mm lata; squamae parietales 2-3 mm longae, cr. 1 mm latae, ut folia formatae et spinis instruetae, in ea transgredientes; squamae terminales 1-2-seriatae, ovati-lanceolatae, 4-5 mm longae, 1.5-2 mm latae, spinosi-acuminatae, margine non incrassatae, brevissime denticulatae. Achaenia laevia glaberrima.
