Characteristics

Tree to 13 m high. Branchlets, leaf axes and new growth minutely hairy to glabrous; lenticels small and pale. Leaves 17–30 cm long; leaflets 8–20, usually alternate; lamina narrowly oblong-elliptic to oblanceolate or lanceolate, usually bluntly acuminate to obtuse, regularly and bluntly toothed to ± entire, obtuse to acute and often oblique at base, 4–12 (–14) cm long, 1–2.5 cm wide, mostly glabrous; midrib and lateral veins prominent and raised on both surfaces; several glabrous pit domatia usually prominent; petiolule 3–10 mm long; petiole 3–10 cm long. Panicles 6–10 cm long, pedicels 2–4 mm long. Calyx 2.5–4 mm long. Petals c. 2 mm long. Disc tomentose. Fruit ± globose to obovoid, 3-lobed, 1–2 cm long and diam., red to brown. Aril orange.
